Prayer of the Faithful for Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed

Introduction (by the Presider) Sisters and brothers, the Lord is our light and our help, so let us bring our prayers to God:

1. For a strong faith in life after death (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
2. For our friends and family members who have died (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
3. For people who were killed in war or violence (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
4. For all who have died before their time (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
5. For people who feel sad because of grief (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
6. For the forgotten souls of our parish (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for all the souls on this, their day:


For all our relatives and friends who have gone before us in faith, whom we remember now (pause)


for the priests and people who worshipped here through the ages (pause)


and for those who died recently and those whose anniversaries occur (pause)


that they may behold the Lord’s temple in the new and eternal Jerusalem (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
