5th Sunday of Lent

Introduction(by the Presider):Trusting in the God who brings life even from death, we present our prayers to the Father for the Church and for all who are in need.

  1. For the Church: that she may proclaim Christ, the resurrection and the life, and draw all people to faith this Lent. Lord, hear us.
  2. For the Diocese of Cork and Ross:that we may grow in faith, hope, and charity, witnessing to Jesus in all our parishes. Lord, hear us.
  3. For those bound by addiction:that they may hear the Lord’s call to freedom and find strength, support, and new life. Lord, hear us.
  4. For the sick:that the Lord may grant them healing, strength, and comfort in their time of need. Lord, hear us.
  5. For peace:that Christ, who calls us from darkness into life, may bring peace to troubled hearts and to all nations. Lord, hear us.
  6. For those who mourn:that Jesus, who mourned the death of his friend Lazarus, may bring them comfort and hope. Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may share in the fullness of life promised by Christ. Lord, hear us.

Conclusion(by the Presider): Almighty and ever-living God, you are our hope and our salvation; graciously hear these prayers we make through Christ our Lord.
