Prayer of the Faithful for the Fourth Sunday of Advent  

Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers to the Lord, the King of Glory:

1. That religious leaders may have courage (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
2. That all Christians may prepare to meet Christ (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
3. That we may be kind to people who suffer (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
4. That there may be peace on earth (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
5. That  Christ may bring hope to those who are depressed (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
6. That lonely people may have our support, at Christmas time and always (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for all the dead: That those who have gone before us in faith (especially N and N), may share in Christ’s resurrection from the dead... (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider)O God, yours is the earth and its fullness, bless your people by hearing the prayers we make, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
