Palm Sunday

Introduction(by the Presider):As we enter Holy Week and recall the Lord’s Passion, we trust in God who brings life from death and present our prayers for the Church and for all in need.

  1. For the Church: that Holy Week may lead us to walk more closely with Christ in his Passion and grow in understanding of his love for all people. Lord, hear us.
  2. For our priests:that as they prepare to renew their promises at the Chrism Mass this week, they may be strengthened by God’s grace and our support. Lord, hear us.
  3. For those preparing to receive Sacraments at Easter:that they may be ready to receive the new life Christ offers. Lord, hear us.
  4. For those who have drifted from their faith:that they may be drawn back to Christ and find hope in him. Lord, hear us.
  5. For the homeless: that those without a home, and all who feel they do not belong, may find shelter, support, and a place of welcome. Lord, hear us.
  6. For peace:that amid the conflicts and tensions of our time, leaders may work for lasting peace. Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may find peace and rest in God’s presence. Lord, hear us.

Conclusion(by the Presider): God of mercy and compassion, you know the needs of your people; listen to our prayers and answer them through Christ, our Lord.
