Prayer of the Faithful
Introduction(by the Presider):As we celebrate the Sunday of the Word of God, we give thanks that God speaks to our hearts through His Word. Trusting in that living Word, we now bring our prayers before the Father for the Church and for the world.
- For the Church: that she may faithfully proclaim the Good News and be a radiant light to all peoples and nations. Lord, hear us.
- For all Christians: that the Holy Spirit may bring healing to divisions and draw all believers into deeper unity in faith, hope, and love. Lord, hear us.
- For our Catholic schools: that in everyday life, students, teachers, and families may learn to love God, choose what is good, and follow Jesus more closely each day. Lord, hear us.
- For each of us: that by listening to God’s Word, we may be renewed by God’s grace and be strengthened to live faithfully as followers of Jesus. Lord, hear us.
- For peace in our world: that God may heal division and violence, guide leaders in the ways of justice, and help all people live as brothers and sisters in peace. Lord, hear us.
- For those who are suffering: that God’s loving presence may comfort them, and that we may be compassionate in offering care, support, and hope. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may share forever in the joy of the resurrection. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion(by the Presider): Loving Father, you know the needs of our hearts even before we ask. Hear the prayers we have offered in faith, and grant them according to your will, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
